Why Run?

Why am I running for Lord Mayor?

This is one of the first questions people usually ask and to me it’s the most important one.

I’m running because I want to do my part to make Niagara-on-the-Lake an even better place, and I have the ideas, experience and heart to do my part as Lord Mayor.

I'm running because so many people in this Town who I respect asked me to, so we would have a good alternative to choose instead of more of the same.

I love Niagara-on-the-Lake. We are at a turning point. I think we need to do more to protect our Town and make sure we do what’s best for our residents.

I built a career from modest beginnings to become a successful business leader and chief executive.

I have the skills to organize, inspire and motivate the people who work for us in government and public service to do their best.

My wife Lauren and I give our time, donate and volunteer for local causes.

We need a new kind of Lord Mayor. We need to change direction from the way our Town’s and Region’s leadership has been doing things in the last four years.

We need to do more before we have floods, not after.

We need to stand up for ALL of Niagara-on-the-Lake, so we can say no to big developers who don’t care about our home, and our Greenbelt and agricultural heritage.

We need to stop the push from people who want to turn our excellent regional airport into a mega-terminal with planes buzzing over Virgil every five minutes.

We need an open government with open books. We need a Town Hall that listens to you.

I want to be Lord Mayor so I can give even more for our incredible Niagara-on-the-Lake.
