  • Stand up for a strong and independent Niagara-on-the-Lake

Focus on Community.

  • Upgrade and modernize recreation facilities

  • Expand recreation programs to include every age, interest and ability

  • Provide a more flexible swimming schedule for working families

  • Create a clear and specific plan for the future of Centennial Arena

  • Make it possible for kids to skate on summer ice in Virgil

  • Plan for the future of swimming and aquatics in St. Davids

  • Work with the School Board Trustees to secure a future high school

  • Schedule space for local, non-profit sports organizations first

  • Improve communication and promotion for youth programs

  • Increase spaces available for pre-school and infant child care

  • Host opportunities for older and younger generations to connect

Protect our Heritage.

  • Invest in water and wastewater infrastructure

  • Increase funding for the Town’s irrigation and drainage system

  • Declare an Emergency when major storms disrupt people’s lives

  • Support appropriate on-farm diversified land uses

  • Understand the realities of modern farming

  • Encourage agricultural operations that showcase soil and climate

  • Prohibit the construction of data centres

  • Care for green spaces and the natural environment

  • Listen to the Municipal Heritage Committee and respect their expertise

  • Consider history and heritage early on in any major development

  • Enforce harsh penalties for people who allow demolition by neglect

  • Create more Conservation Districts under the Ontario Heritage Act

  • Incentivize adaptive reuse for historic buildings

  • Invest in a funding program for heritage property maintenance

  • Partner with the Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum to realize expansion

  • Aggressively prosecute property owners who destroy our cultural heritage

  • Update the Zoning By-law to preserve the character of every village

  • Hire the first ever Town Solicitor to advocate for our goals full time

  • Focus density and growth close to transportation networks

  • Implement the Glendale District Secondary Plan

  • Fight expansion of the Niagara District Airport

Keep Costs Low.

  • Set clear and specific guidance to staff early in the budget cycle

  • Target a tax rate that is below the Consumer Price Index for inflation

  • Get the most possible value for community benefit from Town properties

  • Expand public access to existing Town facilities

  • Prioritize community use of public properties

  • Incentivize affordable housing for families and seniors 

  • Create a Property Committee for strategic portfolio management

  • Expect efficiency and prudence from all Town staff on spending

  • Require data-driven business cases for every new budget request

  • Measure and track Return on Investment for capital projects

  • Complete a value for money audit and updated Service Delivery Review

  • Get the best value possible from the Municipal Accommodation Tax
